Save as a Family
#SaveAsAFamily, #ASW2021
Imagine a world where we were intentional about teaching good money and savings habits to our youth at a young age. For the fifth and final day of America Saves 2021, let’s focus on the tangible and intangible ways that you can positively model and influence your kiddos when it comes to money, spending habits and saving.
To get started:
- Step into financial action by taking the America Saves pledge or re-pledging.
- Set a goal! Decide as a family what your financial goals should be. These could be household goals and individual goals. Is it saving for college? Is it saving for a family vacation? A car? Having a financial cushion for unexpected emergencies? Whatever you decide, make a commitment to save. Visit the America Saves Week website for useful tools and vital information to support yourself as a parent and role model in teaching our youth about healthy savings habits.
- Reach out to a Global Credit Union member representative to learn more about available resources offered for you and the family.
- Watch in amazement as your family crushes those savings goals!
Whatever your family unit looks like, everyone must work together if you want to make saving a priority. In most circumstances, we build our financial foundation from experiences that we go through as children and youth. For best results, involve your family and make sure everyone has a role to play.
